Today God answered a prayer.
Several weeks ago I had put out a request on our local freecycle group for a size 3x ladies winter coat and a pair of snowboots in size 9. Yesterday I received a reply from a woman whom I had given some empty coffee cans to a few months back. She had both items for me and lives close to hubby's work so she's going to drop them off there. I haven't seen them yet, but I know that they will be perfect for me. Whenever I have a need, God always provides in his timing. I just have to be patient and trust in his will for my life.

Recently I've been having issues with my new guild, concerning language used and issues being discussed mostly dealing with sexual situations. Ok there is more to this than just my guild, I am being bombarded with issues of a sexual nature constantly. This is the biggest attack of any kind that I've had for a long time, so prayers are most welcome. Just to clarify, I am not being tempted in any way, shape, or form. Also I have nothing against sex, as long as it is between a man and a woman who are married to each other.
In answer to my prayer about it God gave me the following scripture.
Ephesians 5:3-8 (Amplified Bible)

3But immorality (sexual vice) and all impurity [[a]of lustful, rich, wasteful living] or greediness must not even be named among you, as is fitting and proper among saints (God's consecrated people).

4Let there be no filthiness (obscenity, indecency) nor foolish and sinful (silly and corrupt) talk, nor coarse jesting, which are not fitting or becoming; but instead voice your thankfulness [to God].

5For be sure of this: that no person practicing sexual vice or impurity in thought or in life, or one who is covetous [who has lustful desire for the property of others and is greedy for gain]--for he [in effect] is an idolater--has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6Let no one delude and deceive you with empty excuses and groundless arguments [for these sins], for through these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of rebellion and disobedience.

7So do not associate or be sharers with them.

8For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [lead the lives of those native-born to the Light].

Wow that just about says it all doesn't it?

This morning he gave me Psalms 113

Psalm 113
1PRAISE THE Lord! (Hallelujah!) Praise, O servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord!
2Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forever

3From the rising of the sun to the going down of it and from east to west, the name of the Lord is to be praised!

4The Lord is high above all nations, and His glory above the heavens!

5Who is like the Lord our God, Who has His seat on high,

6Who humbles Himself to regard the heavens and the earth!(A)

7[The Lord] raises the poor out of the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap and the dung hill,

8That He may seat them with princes, even with the princes of His people.

9He makes the barren woman to be a homemaker and a joyful mother of [spiritual] children. Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

You know I didn't really understand why he was giving me this scripture until I read that last verse. God made me a promise a long time ago and he just wanted to remind me that he hasn't forgotten it.

Thank You Jesus!

My Father's Eyes by Amy Grant

I may not be every mother's dream for her little girl.
And my face may not grace the mind of everyone in the world.
But that's all right as long as I can have one wish I pray.
When people look inside my life, I want to hear them say.

CHORUS:
She's got her Father's eyes, her Father's eyes
Eyes that find the good in things, When good is not around.
Eyes that find the source of help, When help just can't be found.
Eyes full of compassion, seeing every pain.
Knowin' what you're going through, and feeling it the same.
Just like my Father's eyes, my Father's eyes, my Father's eyes
Just like my Father's eyes.

And on that day when we will pay for all the deeds we have done,
Good and bad they'll all be had to see by everyone
And when you're called to stand and tell just what you saw in me,
More than anything I know, I want your words to be

REPEAT CHORUS

You may ask me, "Why did you decide to make a huge stockpot full of soup?" The answer is a bit complicated.

You see our gas got cut off today because we didn't have the money to pay it. Part of the reason we didn't have the funds is because Mikey took 6 days off of work when I spent my 8 days in the hospital in March. Now this wouldn't normally be a big deal as the gas is only used by the furnace and it is April after all, but we're at the beginning of a cold snap that is expected to last at least a week. Yesterday it got up to 33 degrees F, today it is supposed to get up to 36, and the lows are in the teens. So I have pulled out all the stops, turned on all the incandescent lights, turned on the space heater in the living room, turned on the oven, etc. I thawed and cooked an 8 lb ham, deboned it and added the bone to the stockpot. The humidity created from cooking the soup is supposed to help it to feel warmer in the house. Well it's working downstairs anyway. As long as I keep moving I don't notice the cold so much but as soon as I sit for a bit....brrrrrr. Of course I can't find a single clean sweatshirt so I'm currently wearing layers. Thank God for the ugly long sleeved shirts mom gave me a few years ago for Christmas, they may not be fit to be seen outside the house but they are warm.

I even put in a wanted post to our local freecycle group for heated blankets and space heaters...no response yet. At least I know where the heating pad is and I plan to turn it on and put it under the covers before I get ready to go to sleep. What makes it even worse is that our landlord, who lives in the other half of the house, has had his gas shut off too, otherwise it wouldn't be quite so cold. I am hoping that he is able to get his turned back on tomorrow, at least it would be a little warmer around here. I'm also trying to get Mikey to talk to him about why on earth our gas bills are so high when all we use it for is the furnace, I mean our last one was $294...for one month! It's not like we keep it at tropical temperatures in here either, I keep it at around 68 degrees F. Even with that, it is still really chilly downstairs especially in the kitchen, which has like no insulation and is over a cellar.

So now you know the story of why Lisi is making a stockpot full of soup...aren't you glad you asked?
PS feel free to send any warm weather you are having my way ;-)

Tári turns 60
 magnify

Well it took a little under 3 calendar months, or 36 (24 hr) days but as of February 3, I finally have a character that is level 60.

My little gnome Tári (Chromaggus Server) is a Arcane/Fire Mage. She is MC/Ony/BWL attuned, has her own pinto horse(exalted with SW) and belongs to the guild "The Origin". She has been to BRD, LBRS, UBRS, Scholo, Strat, ZG and MC.

Of course it wouldn't have been possible without help from my friends...shout outs to...Sesshoumaro(thanks for dragging me around even when I wasn't really big enough to go), Neokuja, Gemzi, Grimmin, all my guildies...especially Krimtaras, Faydra, Falamar, Snoots, Sharilar, Forgedwarior, and Serpentus ;-).

I'm hoping to get BC for Valentine's Day so that I can join you all in the Outlands....cause it's damn boring here in Azeroth without ya'll.

Song: God Bless The American Housewife

Look at me, I'm gorgeous in my housecoat with my coffee cup
I bend to get the paper, every neighbor's tryin' to check me out
Look at me, I'm lovely as I wave beside my minivan
Look at how my diamonds seem to sparkle on the garbage can

Chorus:
God bless the American housewife
How she does it I'll never know
God bless the American housewife
She could use a miracle for sure
God bless the American housewife
Cleanin' up the world for you and me
God bless the American housewife
(Ah ah ah ah ah)

Look at how my children play Commando in the cul-de-sac
Look at how my husband has survived another heart attack
Look at all the other mothers envious of all my things
Have to call the plummer 'cause my daughter flushed my wedding ring

(Repeat Chorus)

Bridge:
Look at me, I'm beautiful and glamorous in rubber gloves
Look how my tiara can be bent back to the shape it was
I can do the laundry and make dinner while I'm on the phone
Look at me, I'm sexy as the devil when I mow the lawn

Chorus 2x

How she does it I'll never know
God bless the American housewife

Human Paladin

f-human.jpgpaladin.jpg

Humans tend to be the ones in the middle. Not as sexy as the Night Elves; not as stumpy as the dwarves or gnomes. As a human, you pretty much go with the flow of things.

As a paladin, you like to see that everyone is safe - including yourself. Still an important part of any group, if you get overshadowed, you can always refuse to give them your blessing.

Went to the clinic yesterday and had a very nice long

conversation with the nurse practitioner who gave me a prescription for my meds plus samples to get me started. Image So this is day two of being back on my meds.  I'm  starting out small at only 10mgs a day for 3 days then I'm supposed to up it to 20 mgs for 2 days then go to my usual 25mgs. This is so I don't shock my system too much. It's hard to tell if it is working yet or not because I'm suffering from a bad coldImage but I think I am thinking a little bit clearer anyway. Still having a hard time typing though, my fingers have a bad case of dyslexia.

Now that I have this problem figured out maybe I can concentrate on my weight which shot up 10 pounds in the last two weeks...sigh.Image I'm hoping it is just all the stress from having Mom around and eating out way too often and not something more serious like a health issue.Image I'm going to keep an eye on it and if it doesn't go back down soon I'll make an appointment at the free clinic in town. I would tell you what my weight currently is but I'm still suffering from the shock myself, wouldn't want to scare anyone. Image

Spent the day being sick and in my jammies (bad cold) so decided to do some surfing and found this:
http://www.joancarrisbooks.com/island_final.html
It's a list that was voted on for the 25 books you'd want to have with you on a desert island.
I found that I have at least 19 books from the different book series that are listed, and have read quite a few of the ones that I don't own.
So  here is my list of books I couldn't be without:

  1. The Bible (prefer the Children's Living Bible that I have had forever but an NIV version would be ok as well)
  2. The Harry Potter series by J K Rowling
  3. The Chronicles of Narnia by C S Lewis
  4. Every book that JRR Tolkien wrote (nope not kidding here!)
  5. All of Jane Austen's books
  6. Anne of Green Gables series by L M Montgomery
  7. Little House on the Prairie series by Laura Ingalls Wilder
  8. All of Louisa May Alcott's works
  9. Winnie the Pooh series by AA Milne
  10. Everything by James Herriot (All Creatures Great and Small)
  11. All of Frances Hodgson Burnett's books (The Secret Garden)
  12. The Short Stories of F.  Scott Fitzgerald edited by Matthew J Bruccoli
  13. The entire Mrs. Murphy mystery series by Rita Mae Brown<
  14. All of "The Cat Who" mystery books by Lilian J. Braun
  15. The Hannah Swensen mysteries by Joanne Fluke
  16. The Joy of Cooking...hey you never know it could come in handy!
  17. The New York Public Library Desk Reference....my version is from 1989 so some of the information is dated but I still use it all the time, it has info on just about everything in there, I'm sure the newer editions are even more handy.
  18. The Mrs. Jeffries mysteries by Emily Brightwell...these are light reading but quite enjoyable,  I consider these my guilty pleasures.
  19. The Red River of the North series by Lauraine Snelling
  20. The Mitford series by Jan Karon
  21. A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket
  22. Anything by Catherine Marshall (Christy)
  23. The Flame Trees of Thika series by Elspeth Huxley
  24. The Heavenly Daze series by Lori Copeland and Angela Hunt
  25. The Complete Tightwad Gazette by Amy Dacyczyn...this originally came out as a series of 3 books which is what I have,  my only wish is that she'd write more or update it.
I'm sure there are many more books I have forgotten that I could add to this list but this is a good start anyway.
So what books would be on your list?

Sometimes certain lyrics really hit you right in the heart.

This one hits me:

If heaven was a town it would be my town
On a summer day in 1985
And everything I wanted was out there waiting
And everyone I loved was still alive

My Grandma Bierman(Dad's mom)died in 1986.
My parents were separated at the time and divorced a year later.
It was the beginning of big changes in my life, so this song holds alot of meaning for me.

Artist/Band: Griggs Andy
Lyrics for Song: If Heaven
Lyrics for Album: This I Gotta See

If heaven was an hour, it would be twilight
When the fireflies start their dancin' on the lawn
And supper's on the stove and mama's laughin'
And everybody's workin day is done

If heaven was a town it would be my town
On a summer day in 1985
And everything I wanted was out there waiting
And everyone I loved was still alive

Chorus:
Dont cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we must all say goodbye
And if thats what heavens made of
You know I ain't afraid to die

If heaven was a pie it would be cherry
Cool and sweet and heavy on your tongue
And just one bite would satisfy your hunger
And there'd always be enough for everyone

If heaven was a train it sure would be a fast one
That could take this weary traveler round the bend
And if heaven was a tear it'd be my last one
And youd be in my arms again

Chorus:
Dont cry a tear for me now baby
There comes a time we must all say goodbye
And if that's what heaven's made of
You know I ain't afraid to die
